Techniques And Kata

Traditional and classic techniques involving strikes, blocks, locks and throws, plus Kata to learn the various forms.

Each grade focuses on different aspects of Jujitsu and the scenarios you might encounter in a fight situation.

Within our style of Jujitsu we later learn to attack and defend with traditional weapons such as the Jo, Tonfa, Bokken and Nunchaku alongside our existing empty hand techniques.

Our Atemi Waza relies on a combination of blocks, strikes, locks and pressure points found in Karate and Aikido, with throws and ground work coming from the early Judo aspect of Jujitsu and modern Judo. As well as this, Jujitsu also adapts as needed and can demonstrate various techniques and influences from other martial arts.

Our Kata is based on the Shotokan Karate style, emphasising low and strong stances with fluid movement and power.

Our 4 main stances also come from Karate.

We actively train and welcome students, black belts and instructors from other arts. Jujitsu offers great all around martial arts experience, defence and techniques, which we freely share with others.
