As with all Martial Arts clubs, we have a Code of Conduct which is to be adhered to during lessons to ensure the safety and enjoyment of both you and your fellow students.

1. It is important to "Rei" (bow) before entering and just before leaving the Dojo (training room), before stepping onto the mat (Rei to the instructor, or in their absence, the highest graded student) and before training with another student. The Rei is an integral part of Martial Arts training and a mark of respect. To Rei properly, you must place your hands at your sides and dip your upper body, with your face forward, maintaining eye contact if bowing to another person.

2. Etiquette is important within the Dojo and students are expected to maintain a clean and tidy appearance, clean fingernails, clean feet (due to training bare foot) and a clean and presentable Gi (uniform). No jewellery such as rings, watches, earrings etc... are to be worn on the mat for safety reasons.

3. Drinks and toilet breaks are not permitted during class except under exceptional circumstances. It is advisable to do these before or after the lesson.

4. Ensure you arrive at least 15 minutes before the lesson starts. It is a requirement of the school and our club that the mats we train on are set out before the lesson starts and put away after use. It is expected of our students that they will help with these duties.

5. Bad language is not permitted or tolerated in the Dojo.

6. If a student is unable to attend a lesson it would be polite and useful to let the instructor know in advance. Contact details will be provided to new students.

7. Bullying is not tolerated and any members found to be displaying this behaviour will be dealt with immediately and appropriately.
8. Respect is very important within our club. If people show disrespect to their fellow students, instructors and other martial arts they will be warned to stop and improve their behaviour. If this does not improve they will be dismissed.
